This article aims to explain which figures are included in the KS5 reports for Attitude to Learning (AtL) and how these are calculated. The AtL analysis allows you to view overall or individual student judgements – associated with one of up to three categories – in each qualification taken by the cohort.
Introduction
The AtL you choose to view determines the columns and figures available in the AtL and Student Lists reports, which is based on the display type (set up by a Sisra Administrator) for aggregated figures for that category (this can be either average points, average judgement, total points, or hidden). These columns have been marked with a * below.
Accessing AtL Reports
To access the AtL reports, click REPORTS > KS5 > select a cohort. Then, select the DATA SET in the dropdown and click the ‘AtL’ button.
Once in the reports, you can switch to a different report, view, or group at the top of the page, or use the DATA SET dropdown to switch to a different data set or assessment.
The report views available will be determined by the AtL categories set up in your school. These will display a breakdown of each judgement for the selected category which have been imported for students with a corresponding grade in each qualification.
- Total Judgements: Count of judgements imported for each group in the selected category (including unknown judgements) where students also have a corresponding grade uploaded in that data set.
The summary row displays the total number of judgements imported for the selected AtL category. - Judgements: Count or percentage of each judgement for each group in the selected category where students also have a corresponding grade uploaded in that data set.
The summary row displays the overall count or percentage of each judgement for the selected AtL category, out of the total judgements. - Unknown Judgement: Count or percentage of judgements for each group that are not defined in the setup of the category selected and are therefore not recognised (invalid judgements).
The summary row displays the count or percentage of invalid judgements for the selected AtL category out of the total judgements. - No Judgement: Count of grades uploaded for each group that have no corresponding judgement imported for the selected category.
The summary row displays the count of grades uploaded that have no corresponding judgement imported for the selected AtL category. - Average Points*: Average points for each group, calculated by the sum of points for all valid judgements divided by the count of valid judgements with a corresponding grade in that qualification.
The summary row displays the average points in the selected AtL category, rounded to 2 decimal places. This is calculated by the sum of points for all valid judgements divided by the count of valid judgements with a corresponding grade in that qualification. - Average Judgement*: Average judgement for each group, calculated using the average points to find the equivalent judgement.
The summary row displays the average judgement in the selected AtL category, calculated using the average points to find the equivalent judgement. - Total Points*: Sum of points for all valid judgements with a corresponding grade in this data set for each group.
The summary row displays the sum of points for all valid judgements imported into this data set in the selected AtL category.
Q: Why are there no average points, average judgement, or total points figures included in my reports? A: If these columns are not displayed, this suggests the selected AtL category has been set up by a Sisra Admin as ‘Hidden’, omitting any aggregated figures from the reports. |
