This article explains how to complete Key Filter Mapping for KS5 cohorts, from 21/22 Leavers through to Current Year 12 cohorts.
Please note: This section only needs to be completed if your school is part of a Multi Academy Trust which uses the Juniper MAT Insights Dashboard. |
What is Key Filter Mapping?
The Key Filter Mapping page is a step to be completed as part of the MAT Dashboard setup. This involves mapping your school's student data filters to Sisra key filters. This will then allow your Trust to filter the reports by any of these filters within the Juniper Insights Dashboard.
The Sisra key filters available to map for KS5 are Disadvantaged, Gender, and SEN. In order for your own school's figures in either of these filters to be included in the MAT reports, they would need to be mapped on this page.
Once this setup has been completed, this will allow any users in your Trust to view your school’s figures compared other schools in your MAT, broken down by either of these filters, as well as provide the ability to filter the reports by any of these filters where desired.
Setting Up Key Filter Mapping
To complete the Key Filter Mapping page, navigate to DATA > select KS5 & cohort > STUDENTS > Key Filter Mapping. Please note this is only available for 21/22 Leavers and later cohorts.
This will display the three Sisra key filters available to map; Disadvantaged, Gender, and SEN. To map these to your school filters, click into the filter name.
This will then display two drop downs which can be used to map your key filters, each of which are explained in more detail for specific scenarios below:
1 / If you have a student data filter available for the selected Sisra key filter
If you have a filter available for the selected key filter, select this in the ‘Use the values from the Student Data Filter’ dropdown on the left. Once selected, you will be presented with a list of your school filter values underneath. This will then allow you to map each value to the associated SISRA filter value in the dropdowns below.
For example, the screenshot below shows our school filter values “N” for Non-Disadvantaged students and “Y” for Disadvantaged students. This allows us to map “N” to ‘Other – Not Disadvantaged’ and “Y” to ‘Disadvantaged.
If you need to create a new filter for your school, please see our guide below: |
2 / If all or no students are classed as a specific filter value
If all of your students, or none of your students, fall under a specific filter value, select the appropriate option in the ‘All of the students in this cohort are’ dropdown on the right.
For example, the screenshot below shows all students linked to “Male” Gender, which could be used for an all-boys institution.
Publish STUDENTS
Once you have mapped the relevant filters to the Sisra Key Filters, you would need to publish your STUDENTS area (once all other remaining setup for the cohort is completed as well).
