Troubleshooting Trends Analysis (for Admins)
If you or your users are experiencing any issues with the Trends Report, we recommend consulting the information below. If you still have problems, please feel free to pop onto Live Chat by clicking 'Support' in the bottom right corner of Analytics.
- Why is the Qualifications Trends Report not appearing (or a specific year’s data is not being included)?
If you’re unable to see the option to view the Trends Report on the REPORTS homepage under ‘KS5’ for EAP then we’d recommend republishing the Exams dataset for each cohort you would like to include.
This can be done in DATA > select KS5 and cohort > GRADES > Publish Grades. You would need to ensure the ‘Headlines’ toggle is enabled in order to be included in the Trends report, this is to ensure only students counting towards school performance are included.
Our Y13 Summer Exams article can be followed to upload & set up KS5 cohorts with a basic setup for publishing Exam results, if you’re looking to add historical KS5 Exams data as far back as 17/18 Leavers. |
- The analysis is incomplete for some of my qualifications, why is this?
If analysis is incomplete for a qualification (e.g. missing for specific years) it may be that the qualification did not exist in a previous year or that the qualification names are inconsistent between cohorts. Analytics uses the qualification names to display trends across years.
If the name is simply inconsistent between cohorts (e.g. English Lang in one year, English Language in another), you can update this on the Matching page and republish to populate the trends analysis. To do this, click DATA > select KS5 and cohort > GRADES > Matching > ‘Edit’ and ensure the Qualification column is the same. If not, type in your changes, save and republish your grades data. Please note, this is case sensitive. If you have ART in one year, and Art in another, these will need to be made consistent for trends analysis to be viewed.
- Will Locked or Embargoed Reports appear within the Trends Report?
If you have set a dataset report’s status to ‘Locked’ or it is under embargo, then by default ‘Admins’ will still be able to analyse this within the Trends report, but standard ‘Users’ will NOT see this included.
Please note: Any bespoke authority groups you have created (USERS > Groups) who also have ‘View Locked Reports’ or ‘View Embargo Reports’ enabled will be able to see these in the reports also.
- Why is the Value Added chart not populated as expected?
If the chart is not populated at all, or is not populated for selected cohorts, this suggests that the Value Added setup is not complete. For more information on setting up Value Added, please see our Value Added setup article here.
Please note: Value Added is only available for A Level, Academic and Applied General qualifications, as such the chart won’t be populated for any Tech Levels due to these not being reported on for Value Added.
