KS3/4 - Troubleshooting Qualification Trends Analysis (for Admins)
If you or your users are experiencing any issues with the Trends Report, we recommend consulting the information below. If you still have problems, please feel free to pop onto Live Chat by clicking 'Support' in the bottom right corner of Analytics.
-
Why is the Qualifications Trends Report not appearing (or a specific year’s data is not being included)?
If you’re unable to see the option to view the Trends Report on the REPORTS homepage under ‘KS3/4’, then we’d recommend republishing both KS2/EAP and the Exams dataset for each cohort you would like to include (Trends are available for the last 5 cohorts either including, or excluding cohorts affected by COVID).
This can be done in DATA > select KS3/4 and cohort > KS2/EAP > Publish KS2/EAP, followed by GRADES > Publish Grades.

The analysis is incomplete for some of my qualifications, why is this?
If analysis is incomplete for a qualification (e.g. missing for specific years) it may be that the qualification did not exist in a previous year or that the qualification names are inconsistent between cohorts. Analytics uses the qualification names to display trends across years.
If, however, the name is simply inconsistent between cohorts (e.g. 'English Lang' in one year, 'English Language' in another), you can update this on the Matching page and republish to populate the trends analysis. To do this, click DATA > select KS3/4 and cohort > GRADES > Matching and ensure the Qualification Name column is the same.
If not, click Edit, type in your changes in the 'Qualification Name' column, then save and republish your Exams report. Please note, this is case sensitive. If you have ART in one year, and Art in another, these will need to be made consistent for trends analysis to be viewed.
-
Will Locked or Embargoed Reports appear within the Trends Report?
If you have set a dataset report’s status to ‘Locked’ or it is under embargo, then by default ‘Admins’ will still be able to analyse this within the Trends report, but standard ‘Users’ will NOT see this included.
Please note: Any bespoke authority groups you have created (USERS > Groups) who also have ‘View Locked Reports’ or ‘View Embargo Reports’ enabled will be able to see these in the reports also.
-
Why is the Subject Progress Index chart not populated as expected?
If the chart is not populated at all, or is not populated for selected cohorts, this suggests that the Data Collaboration setup is either not complete or the report has not been published with Data Collaboration report features enabled.
