If you are planning to upload grades from a CSV (MS DOS) file for a new qualification, you do not need to create the new qualification manually. Analytics will create this for you during the file upload if the qualification name is unique.

If you have a qualification that you do not want to upload a grade file for, for example if it is a qualification taken off-site that you only have a couple of grades for, then you can create a qualification manually on the Matching page.
Create a New Qualification (Manually)
To add a single qualification or subject to the Matching page, go to DATA > select Keystage 5 and cohort > GRADES > Matching and then click on ‘Create New Qualification’.
Then, enter a clear qualification name and click ‘Create’. Remember that a qualification name will pull through to all reports, so we recommend using a generic/clear name, such as 'Art', 'English Language', 'BTEC Music', etc.
This new qualification will then appear on the Matching page. It will be highlighted orange as it will not be assigned to a QN/Qual Title or an EAP.
You will then need to complete the Matching process for this qualification by entering the relevant QN information, and assigning a suitable EAP, which uses the relevant grade method. For a step-by-step on how to complete the Matching page, you can click the link to see our article - Completing the Matching page (Admin).
You will also need to manually add grades you have in this qualification to the relevant data set or assessment. This is done on the Grade Management page (DATA > select Keystage 5 and cohort > GRADES > Grades Management). Once you are in the relevant data set or assessment, click on the Grade Count for the qualification and then click 'Add Grade'.
For more information on manually adding grades to your qualifications, see our article: FAQ - Can I add grades manually?
For information on how to manually add class data, including for qualifications that are taken offsite and have no class data, see under the heading 'Missing Class Data for KS5' in this article: KS5 - Grades Management.
