Note: The information in this guide applies only to EAPs creating using KS2 Scaled Scores as their baselines. |
If your EAPs were created before Summer 2022 and are using the average of your Scaled Scores as the EAP baseline, there will only be pathways for the whole number Scaled Score average baseline. However, the DfE changed the rules in Summer 2022 so that the average Scaled Scores were no longer rounded to the nearest whole number when it comes to prior attainment.
For example, if your student has a Maths Scaled Score of 113 and an English Scaled Score of 110, they would have an average score of 111.5. Under the previous rules, this would have been rounded up to 112 for both their KS2 Prior Attainment and the EAP pathway, but now it can remain as 111.5.
If your EAP only contains pathways for whole numbers, such as in the screenshot below, any students with x.5 average baselines will not have an EAP grade in the report, as there is no suitable pathway for them.
In order for the students with x.5 average Scaled Scores to have EAP grades in the reports, you will need to re-create any EAPs that use the average of your Scaled Scores as the EAP baseline. Do this by going to KS2/EAP > EAP and clicking 'Create EAP'. Additionally, when creating these new EAPs, you aren't able to copy from any pre-existing Scaled Scores EAPs, as these will be using the previous whole number Scaled Scores rows. So when creating these, you'll need to select the 'Create New EAP' option.
For step-by-step instructions on creating EAPs, please see our article here:
Alternatively, you can create EAPs using Target grades as baselines instead of KS2 data, which is our recommended approach. For information on how to set up target-based EAPs, see our guide linked here. |
When new EAPs are then created using Scaled Scores, Analytics will create the additional pathways for the x.5 average baselines.
You can then fill out the EAP pathways for these baselines, as shown in the screenshot below.
For more information on how to fill out the EAP pathways, please see our article here: |
You can then go to KS2/EAP > Publish KS2/EAP and republish your data. After that, you will need to go to GRADES > Matching and click on 'Edit' to assign your new EAPs to your qualifications. Then go to GRADES > Publish Grades and republish your reports.
Once your reports are republished, you should then have EAP grades in the reports for all your students who have KS2 data.
