If you have students whose grades have been affected by special circumstances, you may wish to be able to view your figures both with and without these students being included. The best way to do this would be by utilising Focus Groups.
If your student(s) needs to be excluded entirely from all of your reports in future, you can do this by going to DATA > select keystage and cohort > STUDENTS > Cohort. Then select the student you wish to exclude and then click 'Change Status', then select either the status of Guest (to exclude them from headline figures but not the Grades report) or Left School (to exclude them entirely). Then re-publish your STUDENTS data. |
To do this, you would need to go to DATA > select keystage and cohort > STUDENTS > Focus Groups and then click 'Create Focus Group'. Then enter a clear group name (as this pulls through to the reports) and then click 'Create'.
You can then click on the 'Include' checkbox above the list of your students to select all students in the cohort, and then go through the list and de-select any of your students with special circumstances that you want to be able to exclude.
Once you have finished de-selecting these students, you can click 'Save'. You will then just need to go to STUDENTS > Publish Students and re-publish your student data.
In the reports, you would then be able to click on the 'Filters' tab within the reports and click the blue 'Add Filters' button. You can then select your new Focus Group and then click 'Apply' to be able to view all of your figures with the students who are not in that focus group excluded.
