There are two different options for viewing figures on, above, or below target in KS3/4 reports. This article will explain both options so that you can select the one that is right for your school.
- Option 1 - View on, above, below target figures by using the 'Compare' dropdown and comparing your current data set with your 'Targets' data set.
- Option 2 - Utilise the On Track feature (this will only provide the desired figures if your EAPs have been set up to use Targets as the EAP Baseline by your Sisra Admin and expected grades have been entered).
To view the figures for how many students are on, above, or below target in each qualification, go to REPORTS and open the report for the data set that you wish to view. Then go to the Grades Area - Totals Report - Qualification view as shown below.
Option 1 / Using the 'Compare' Dropdown
To view the on, above, or below figures based on the Targets data set, select this data set from the Compare dropdown, selecting to 'view' this data set.
The Grades - Totals report will then be displayed with two additional rows for each qualification, displaying the figures as they would appear in the Targets report as well as the difference between the two figures. There will also be 5 additional columns on the right side of the report with headings similar to the ones shown. Your headings may differ slightly depending on the name of your Targets data set. |
These columns will display how many students have achieved grades that are above or equal to, above, equal to, or below the grades they were targeted to achieve. There is also a column for not applicable. For example, in the screenshot below you can see that for the 'DT Textiles' qualification, 17 students were above their target grade, 3 were exactly on target, and 20 were below their targeted grade.
If desired, you could then click into the name of the qualification to see this detail at a class level to see which class has the most students who are performing above or below target.
You could also view these figures as a percentage of students who are on, above, or below target rather than a number. To do this, go to the small grey task bar at the top of the report and click on the percentage icon (%) so that it turns orange. |
If you wanted to see the actual grades being achieved by each student compared to what grade they were targeted, you can then click into Qualification then the Class name (or click on Summary to view all students for that qualification) to see the student list. The Grade column will then display the student's grade for that data set with their Target grade in the row below. The grades will also be highlighted green if a student is above target and red if they are below. If they are on target, they will not be highlighted.
Option 2 / Using the On Track Feature
If the Sisra Administrator at your school has entered expected grades into the EAPs for the cohort, you will see the On/Above Track, Above Track, On Track, and Below Track columns displayed in the Grades - Totals - Qualifications report. If your EAPs have been created by using the students' targets as the EAP Baseline, you can simply use these columns to view which students are on, above, or below their targets.
For example, here you can see that for my PE qualification, it is displaying that 16 students are Above/On Track, 15 are Above Track, 1 is On Track, and 22 are Below Track.
If we then compare this to the figures we would see when using the first option (comparing the figures to the Target data set using the Compare dropdown), you can see that the figures in the Above/On Track, Above Track, On Track, and Below Track columns are exactly the same as what is displayed in the >= Targets, > Targets, = Targets, and < Targets columns respectively.
