Below we have provided step by step instructions on how to access your KS3/4 headlines, as well as a video tutorial!
Finding Key KS3/4 Headline Figures
To access the reports you would need to click on REPORTS at the top of the screen > click on the KS3/4 tab > and click on the cohort's tab. To access the Headlines report you will need to click on the report's name and go to 'Whole Cohort'.
By default this would open the Headlines Summary report (depending on settings by your Sisra Admin). If this is not displayed, you can click Headlines > Summary > Whole Cohort.
You will then be presented with a number of tables presenting your key school performance measures for the cohort, based on the grades in that specific report.
Overview of figures
Here you can check your Cohort figure. This is the number of students On Roll to be included in headline calculations.
The first headline section then is Attainment 8 / Progress 8 Summary. The cohort averages for Attainment 8 and Progress 8 are listed here and an important figure is the number of students included in Progress 8, as those without valid KS2 data will not be included in P8, but if they are reported on, will still be included in the cohort figure at the top, and therefore other headline measures.
Positive Progress 8 figures can also be seen, which can be useful in narrowing down which baskets students are achieving negative P8 scores in.
Q: I have blue columns appearing in the report, what are these showing? A: Additional blue columns will appear if your Sisra Admin has published your report with Sisra Data Collaboration report features. In brief, this allows you to compare your cohorts headline performance with that of students included in the Sisra Data Collaboration (Sisra opted in schools). Colour coding will highlight if your students performance is above or below. You can see what data was used to generate the collaborative headline columns using the DATA COLLAB bar at the top of the report, as well as hide the columns if you prefer. |
The next table displays Basics 9-7, 9-5, and 9-4 in English & Maths. These all show the students achieving these grades in eligible English and Maths qualifications. There are also figures for those achieving one but not the other, and those achieving neither.
The KS4 Results section contains additional measures that are comparable with historical figures. For example the 5 x standard passes measure is comparable with the old 5 A*-C measure, as this includes the grades 9-4 or A*-C. You can use the question mark icon here for a breakdown of exactly what is required for inclusion in a particular measure.
You can also view handy overview single science and combined science measures too.
Below you can analyse the EBacc measure, and there are separate tables for each of the EBacc elements. EBacc APS measure can be found here for the cohort and for each of the elements, and bear in mind this is counted out of the overall cohort figure, rather than those entered for each element.
Next up is the in-depth Attainment 8 and Progress 8 sections for each element. English, Maths, the EBacc, and Open figures are available, as these are the elements the DfE provide estimates for each year. |
Finally, the Value Added section lists the cohort scores in the three EBacc elements that the DfE also release estimates on, these are Science, Humanities, and Languages.
Headlines Dashboard & Charts Reports
There are number of different reports available from the Headlines area, for example by clicking Headlines, we can see that there is a Dashboard available, as additional Charts and Filter reports. |
The Dashboard provides an overview of official headline figures in chart form, such as Basics, Attainment 8, and Progress 8.
Charts provide further detail, and each of these can be drilled down into by clicking the figure you wish to view detail for. There is also Attainment 8 v KS2 scatter graph, which plots each student against their KS2 starting point, which a line representing the national average. You can hover over or drill down to view the student, and also zoom in on a particular group.
Headline Filters Report
Finally, the Filters headline report gives a breakdown of key headline figures for each of the student filter groups that have been imported by your Sisra administrator. For example below you can see attendance groups and can view the figures for each of these groups.
