Analytics will perform checks on the baselines imported for a cohort to find any potential setup issues that could affect the integrity of the reports. Any issues found will be displayed with a warning icon within the KS4 / EAP > Core Baselines section.
This article aims to explain how to identify and address warning icons shown for your KS5 cohort(s) for your core KS4 baselines specifically, to ensure these baselines pull through appropriately when the reports are published.
Core Baselines
After importing core baselines, you can check for issues in DATA > Keystage 5 > select cohort > KS4 / EAP > Core Baselines > Core Baselines List.
We would recommend resolving any icons appearing here to ensure accuracy in the reports.
Invalid Core Baseline
If this icon shows underneath any student's scores, this indicates that they have points for a baseline that aren’t in the range expected. The valid ranges for each of the baselines are covered below:
-
KS4 APS GCSE / KS4 APS All - These baselines will accept appropriate average Attainment 8 points values between 0 and 11 (up to 13 decimal places).
- Prior English / Prior Maths - These baselines will accept the appropriate challenge points for the cohort year you’re working with, which you can see in the table below:
Valid English Challenge Points (2019) | Valid English Challenge Points (2020 Onwards) | Valid Maths Challenge Points (2019) | Valid Maths Challenge Points (2020 Onwards) | |||
8 | 9 | 8 | 9 | |||
7.7 | 8.5 | 7.7 | 8.5 | |||
7 | 8 | 7 | 8 | |||
6.3 | 7 | 6.3 | 7 | |||
6 | 6 | 6 | 6 | |||
5.7 | 5.5 | 5.7 | 5.5 | |||
5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | |||
4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | |||
3 | 3.5 | 3 | 3.5 | |||
2.5 | 3 | 2.5 | 3 | |||
2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | |||
1.5 | 1.75 | 1.7 | 1.75 | |||
1 | 1.5 | 1.5 | 1.5 | |||
0.4 | 1.25 | 1 | 1.25 | |||
0 | 1 | 0.8 | 1 | |||
- | 0.75 | 0.4 | 0.8 | |||
- | 0.5 | 0 | 0.75 | |||
- | 0.25 | - | 0.5 | |||
- | 0 | - | 0.25 | |||
- | - | - | 0 |
Please note: The tables are displayed independently of each other and should not be used for comparative purposes e.g. challenge points of 5.7 in 2019 do not correspond to challenge points of 5.5 in 2020.
You can resolve this by either clicking the blue pencil icon on the row of the student(s) you want to change and amending their points manually. Or, you can export your baselines to Excel using the ‘Export Core Baselines’ button and then selecting ‘Export in 4 column import format'.
You can then amend these in Excel before re-importing them via KS4/EAP > Core Baselines > Import Core Baselines.
