If your Admin has published with the Sisra Data Collaboration, you'll gain access to SPI figures in your reports, which is a Sisra exclusive measure. SPI shows how a student has performed in a subject compared with all students with the same KS2 Prior in the Sisra Data Collaboration event published by your administrator.
SPI allows you to compare performance of students, qualifications, classes, faculties, filters, and more. Think subject Progress 8, but better!
For detailed information on how SPI is calculated, see our article - How is SPI (Subject Progress Index) Calculated?
SPI Scores
You can view SPI within the Grades area reports, for example, by clicking Grades on the blue navigation bar, and then selecting either the Overview, Totals or Grade List report.
Once you have selected a report, you can select whether you want to view this for your Filter groups, Faculties, Qualifications, Classes, or Students.
Once you have selected your chosen report, you should see two blue columns:
- Subject Progress Index column shows the SPI score
- SPI Chart column provides a visual representation for easy comparison
You can also see an average SPI for your chosen group in the summary row.
Q: Is it possible to export all SPI scores for each student? A: Yes! You can export all students' SPI scores in each qualification in a broadsheet format. Please see our article linked here for further information. |
Colour Coding
SPI scores are also colour-coded to indicate whether a student’s score is positive (green) or negative (red).
The colour density varies depending on how positive or negative the figures are. The boundaries for the SPI colour coding ranges can be seen to the right.
When viewing SPI at student level, you may on some occasions be presented with warning icons, to draw your attention to specific SPI scores, which you may want to consider when analysing the data. For more information on the warning icons, see our article here - KS3/4 - How is SPI (Subject Progress Index) calculated?

SPI Scattergraphs
SPI Scattergraphs can also be accessed in Grades area – SPI Scattergraph report – Students level, for individual qualifications.
This shows a visual representation of how students have performed in the selected qualification compared with other students with the same prior attainment score and a grade in that subject area.
Click on a data point for more information on which students are contributing towards that figure.
Underneath the scattergraph, the collaborative average points will be shown for each KS2 prior attainment for the selected qualification, alongside the Sisra subjects included in the collaboration group.
