This article aims to explain each report within the EBacc Area in the KS3/4 reports, the figures included, and how these are calculated.
The EBacc area provides reports based on EBacc performance measures for individual students and for the cohort overall. This is calculated using grades that count towards school performance, and at the time of writing there are 2 reports available at Filters and Students level: Standard Pass and Strong Pass.
Strong Pass EBacc Requirements
|
Standard Pass Report
The EBacc Standard Pass report shows whether students have met the Standard Pass EBacc (grades 9-4) and each EBacc element: English, Maths, Science, Humanities, and Languages.
-
EBacc Eng / Mat / Sci / Hum / Lang: Grade each student has achieved for each EBacc Element (if entered). EBacc Sci will display two grades side by side, representing both grades counting towards this element, e.g. 88, 86 (when working with separate Sciences). Grades 9-4 will be colour coded green, whereas grades 3-U will be red.
The summary row displays the total number of students who have achieved a Standard Pass (grade 9-4) in each element of the EBacc.
-
EBacc Entered: Y or N indicating if each student has been entered (U grade or above) into Standard EBacc or not, depending on the qualifications they have grades uploaded for. Below we have explained the more complex rules for entry into EBacc English and Science:
- EBacc English – Students must take both English Language AND Literature.
- EBacc Science – GCSE Combined Science or 3 single GCSE science (from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or an eligible Computer Science).
The summary row displays the total number of students who have been entered for the EBacc (achieved a U grade or above in all EBacc elements).
-
EBacc Slots Filled: Total number of EBacc slots each student has filled, based on the grades they have uploaded. A maximum of 6 is possible here (2 slots for Science).
The summary row displays the average number of EBacc slots that have been filled by each student for all students in the cohort, to 2 decimal places.
-
EBacc Average Points: Average Attainment 8 points achieved by each student across each EBacc element (sum of their points divided by 6 elements).
The summary row displays the average of the average EBacc points achieved by each student in the cohort, to 2 decimal places.
-
EBacc Standard Pass: Y or N indicating if each student has been entered and passed the Standard EBacc measure. Students must achieve a 9-4 in each EBacc element to pass this. A ‘-‘ indicates that the student does not have a grade in all EBacc elements and is therefore not eligible to be entered in the EBacc. Y values will be colour coded green, whereas N values will be colour coded red.
The summary row displays the total number of students in the cohort who have achieved a Standard Pass (grade 9-4) in all elements of the EBacc.
-
EBacc Strong Pass: Y or N indicating if each student has been entered and passed the Strong EBacc measure. Students must achieve a 9-5 in each EBacc element to pass this. A ‘-‘ indicates that the student does not have a grade in all EBacc elements and is therefore not eligible to be entered in the EBacc. Y values will be colour coded green, whereas N values will be colour coded red.
The summary row displays the total number of students in the cohort who have achieved a Strong Pass (grade 9-5) in all elements of the EBacc.
Strong Pass Report
The EBacc Strong Pass report shows whether students have met the Strong Pass EBacc (grades 9-5) and each EBacc element: English, Maths, Science, Humanities, and Languages.
-
EBacc Eng / Mat / Sci / Hum / Lang: Grade each student has achieved for each EBacc Element (if entered). EBacc Sci will display two grades side by side, representing both grades counting towards this element, e.g. 88, 86 (when working with separate Sciences). Grades 9-5 will be colour coded green, whereas grades 4-U will be red.
The summary row displays the total number of students who have achieved a Strong Pass (grade 9-5) in each element of the EBacc.
